Privacy Policy – PromoFact
Last updated: 21 June 2026
This policy describes what data the PromoFact mobile application ("App") collects, why, and with whom it is shared.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Tomasz Szalkiewicz, a private individual.
Contact: toolsh.online@gmail.com
2. What data we collect
- Account data: your email address and (for password sign-in) an encrypted password. For Google sign-in: email, name and Google account identifier.
- Photos of promotional labels: the photo you take or select is sent for analysis by an artificial intelligence service (Google Gemini). The photo is used only for one-time analysis and is not stored permanently — the exception is when you mark an analysis as incorrect (thumbs down): a copy of the photo is then stored to help us improve quality.
- Analysis results: the text result of the promotion analysis (product name, prices, savings) is stored to provide you with scan history.
- Scan count and account status: the counter of used scans and information about your package/subscription.
- Feedback: the content of messages sent via the "Send feedback" feature.
3. Purpose of processing
- Providing the core function of the App — analysis of store promotions.
- Authentication and management of your account.
- Maintaining scan history and the free/paid scan counter.
- Improving the quality and accuracy of analyses (based on error reports).
4. Legal basis
We process data on the basis of: performance of a service contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and the legitimate interest of the controller — improving service quality (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Who we share data with (processors)
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Storage) — hosting of account, data and app logic.
- Google Gemini API — analysis of promotional label photos.
- Google Play Services — app distribution and Google sign-in.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Data retention
We keep account data and scan history until your account is deleted. Photos are not stored (except a copy when you report an error). You can request deletion of your data at any time.
7. Your rights
You have the right to: access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict processing, and data portability. To exercise these rights or delete your account, write to: toolsh.online@gmail.com. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date of the last change is shown at the top of the page.
